Beihai Park is truly a hidden gem. With an entrance fee of 10 RMB during the peak season and 5 RMB in the off-season, it offers a full day of exploration and is well worth the price.
First-time visitors to Beihai Park often head to the east shore to climb the White Pagoda. However, the views on the west shore are even more stunning. From the west shore, you can capture the White Pagoda, Wanchun Pavilion (the iconic structure of Jingshan Park), and the CITIC Tower all in one frame. During festivals, the lights are turned on, creating an even more enchanting night view.
Photo Spot Guide
Photos 1, 2, 3: Taken on the west shore of Beihai Park, these shots feature Wanchun Pavilion in Jingshan Park, the distant CITIC Tower, and the rising moon, all in perfect harmony.
Photos 4, 5, 6, 7: Taken on the north shore. In Photo 4, the White Pagoda and Wanchun Pavilion are beautifully lit up, making the night scene even more breathtaking than during the day. In Photo 6, a group of small figures is neatly arranged, enjoying the lake view from the best vantage point. Photo 7 captures the White Pagoda using a telephoto lens.
Photos 8, 9: Taken on the east shore of Beihai Park around 5:45 PM. The evening glow makes the White Pagoda look especially majestic, with the sunset reflecting off the lake. A group of wild ducks lazily finishes another day.
Photo 10: Taken from the top of the White Pagoda. There’s a viewing platform behind the top, offering a great spot to admire the lake view and photograph the docks on the east shore of Beihai Park.
Photo 11: Taken from Yong’an Bridge on the south side of the White Pagoda. From this angle, you can capture the front view of the White Pagoda (yes, most photos taken while boating are of its back).
